My plan today was to simply post a piece of Scripture from Luke's Christmas story.
But this morning I got a Facebook notification from my friend, Anna, announcing the long-awaited release of her original Christmas song The Heart of What's to Come. When I heard her sing it from behind the piano for the first time last Christmas, I was mesmerized. The gift of her talent has always been inspiring, but something behind the heart of this particular song left me breathless. I told her if she ever recorded it, I'd be content if it was the only song I listened to all Christmas long.
And so, here we are. I can't think of a better thing to do on this Christmas Eve than to share this song with you. Download. Listen. Be blessed.
Cheers to my friend Anna Negley for having the courage to step into the sound of her dreams. May it inspire the rest of us as we remember, regardless of how vulnerable or scary if feels, choosing to step into who we are and what God is calling us to do is always worth the risk.
